Why so many patients choose clear aligners
Clear aligners are now one of the most popular ways adults choose to straighten their teeth, and for good reason. They're quietly worn during the day, easy to remove for meals, and they keep brushing and flossing simple, no brackets or wires to navigate.
For the right patient, Invisalign can:
- Improve a smile that's always felt crowded or crooked
- Close small gaps between teeth
- Address mild to moderate bite issues
- Refine teeth that have shifted slightly years after braces
We're careful, though, to keep expectations realistic. Invisalign is for selected patients: the cases where it's truly the best fit. If we don't think aligners will give you a great result, we'll tell you, and we'll talk through what would.
What treatment looks like with us
We approach Invisalign the same way we approach every long-term treatment: carefully, conservatively, and at a comfortable pace. Here's how it typically unfolds:
Consultation & assessment
We listen first. What's bothering you? What would feel like a win? Then we do a focused exam and let you know whether Invisalign is a good fit for your case, or whether a different approach might serve you better.
Digital scanning & treatment plan
If we move forward together, we take a quick digital scan of your teeth (no goopy impression material) and use it to design a step-by-step movement plan. We'll show you a preview of how your smile is expected to change.
Aligners & easy check-ups
Your custom aligners are made and you start wearing them, switching to a new set every one to two weeks as prescribed. Check-ups are short and relaxed (usually every six to ten weeks) to make sure everything is tracking as planned.
Finishing touches & retainers
Once you've reached your final aligner, we may suggest small refinements or simple polishing to get the final result just right. Then we fit you with custom retainers and set you up with a long-term wear plan to protect the result.
Aligners vs. braces, compared
Aligners aren't always the right tool. Here's how we usually frame the choice:
- Aligners shine when the movements needed are mild to moderate, when discretion matters, and when the patient is reliable about wearing them.
- Braces still win for some more complex bite corrections, growth-related cases, and certain rotations or extractions.

What good Invisalign care really requires
Aligners only work when you wear them. The most successful patients we treat tend to share a few simple habits:
- Wear the aligners 20–22 hours a day
- Remove them for meals and anything other than water
- Clean teeth (and the aligners) before putting them back in
- Keep the next set with you in case you need to switch on schedule
It sounds simple, and it really is, but consistency is the whole game.
After your treatment: the part most people forget about
Teeth try to drift back to where they used to be. That's why retention is just as important as the treatment itself. At the end of your case, we'll provide custom retainers and a long-term wear schedule that fits into your life. With a few simple habits, your new smile can stay where it is for decades.
Curious whether Invisalign is right for you?
Book a consultation and we'll take a look, talk through the trade-offs, and give you our honest opinion. If we don't think Invisalign is the best fit, we'll say so and recommend what would be. You can also see how this fits alongside our general dentistry and new patient experience.
