Choosing a dentist outside your own town
Aurora patients who look south are usually solving one of two problems: the appointment times available locally do not fit their week, or they have moved practices and want a fresh start somewhere unhurried.
Both are ordinary reasons and neither needs justifying. Crossing a municipal boundary for dental care makes no difference to your insurance, your CDCP eligibility, or anything else administrative — as far as dentistry is concerned, York Region is one catchment. The only real variable is whether the trip fits your routine.
For most of Aurora, this clinic is a straight run south on Yonge. If you already commute in that direction, an appointment on the way down tends to be far easier to keep than one back home in the middle of a working day.
Moving your records from another clinic
This is the part that stops people, so it is worth being plain about it.
In Ontario your dental records are yours. You can ask your current clinic to transfer your chart, recent X-rays, and treatment history to a new dentist, and they are obliged to release them. A modest administrative fee is permitted. You do not need to give a reason, and you do not need to have a conversation about leaving — the request travels between offices as routine paperwork.
Getting recent X-rays across matters for a practical reason rather than a bureaucratic one: if your images are current, we may not need to retake them at your first visit. That saves you exposure, time, and cost.
Tell us the name of your previous clinic when you book and we will send the request on your behalf. If you would rather handle it yourself, a short email or call to their front desk is all it takes.
Appointments built around a commute
The hours are the practical reason most Aurora patients end up here rather than closer to home.

Monday and Thursday run to 7pm, and Saturdays are 9am to 4pm. Those are the appointments you can keep without booking time off, and they are consequently the first to fill — book further ahead for those than you would for a Wednesday afternoon.

Routes south from Aurora
From Aurora GO or Aurora Town Park, head to Yonge Street and drive south past Wellington Street, Henderson Drive, and Bloomington Road. Continue into Richmond Hill through Oak Ridges and Bernard Avenue, then on to Elgin Mills Road.
From east Aurora, Bayview Avenue south and then west on Elgin Mills Road is often the faster line. From the west side, Bathurst Street south to Elgin Mills Road east works well. The clinic is at 10720 Yonge St, Unit 207, with visitor parking around the building and elevator access upstairs. Allow extra time for Yonge Street traffic at either end of the day.
